What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a clear aligner system designed to straighten teeth using a series of custom-made, removable trays. Each aligner gradually shifts teeth into proper position using gentle, controlled force. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign trays are smooth, nearly invisible, and can be removed for eating and brushing.

For growing children and teens, Invisalign can address common orthodontic concerns such as crowding, spacing, crossbites, overbites, and underbites. At Minimint Pediatric Dentistry, we carefully evaluate your child’s development to determine the right timing for treatment. Our goal is to support healthy jaw growth, proper bite alignment, and long-term oral health while keeping the process as comfortable and flexible as possible.

Why choose Invisalign?

Orthodontic treatment is about more than straight teeth. It supports better oral health, improved function, and long-term confidence. Invisalign offers a modern approach that fits seamlessly into busy family life.

Nearly invisible treatment

Clear aligners allow your child to straighten their smile discreetly, so they can feel confident at school, in photos, and with friends.

Removable for real life

Because aligners can be removed, kids and teens can eat their favorite foods and maintain excellent oral hygiene without navigating brackets and wires.

Comfortable and convenient

Smooth plastic trays reduce irritation to cheeks and gums, and fewer in-office visits mean less disruption to your family’s schedule.

Invisalign options at minimint

Invisalign First® (early interceptive treatment)

Invisalign First is designed for younger children whose permanent teeth are still coming in. This early treatment can guide jaw development, create space for erupting teeth, and address bite concerns before they become more complex. Early intervention can often simplify or shorten future orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign for teens

Designed specifically for adolescents, Invisalign Teen includes features that accommodate erupting teeth and active lifestyles. Compliance indicators help ensure aligners are worn as directed, and replacement aligners are available if needed. It’s a flexible solution that fits sports, music, and busy school schedules.

Retainers and post-treatment care

After Invisalign treatment is complete, retainers help maintain your child’s newly aligned smile. We provide clear guidance on wear schedules and long-term maintenance to protect their investment.

Frequently
 asked
 questions

Considering Invisalign for your child? Here are answers to a few of the most common questions parents ask.

Is Invisalign really as effective as traditional braces?

Yes. For many mild to moderate orthodontic concerns, Invisalign is just as effective as braces when worn consistently. Clear aligners are custom-designed to apply controlled, gradual pressure to move teeth safely and predictably. During your child’s consultation, we’ll evaluate their bite, jaw development, and alignment to determine whether Invisalign is the best and most effective option for their specific needs.

How long does Invisalign treatment take for kids or teens?

Treatment time varies depending on your child’s age, growth stage, and orthodontic goals. Early interceptive treatment (Invisalign First®) may take 6–12 months, while comprehensive teen treatment may range from 12–18 months. We’ll provide a personalized timeline at your consultation and monitor progress carefully throughout treatment to ensure everything stays on track.

What happens if my child forgets to wear their aligners?

For Invisalign to work properly, aligners should be worn 20–22 hours per day. If aligners aren’t worn consistently, treatment can take longer and teeth may not move as planned. That’s why we take time to educate both parents and kids on how to build aligner wear into their daily routine. Invisalign Teen also includes compliance indicators to help monitor wear time and keep treatment progressing smoothly.
